Transforming a Concrete Ceiling Into a Modern, Light-Filled Living Space
This project involved transforming a newly purchased apartment in Pompano Beach with limited lighting and exposed concrete ceilings into a clean, modern, and fully illuminated living space using stretch ceiling systems.
Project Overview
The client had just purchased a multi-level apartment in Pompano Beach. Like many similar buildings, the unit featured solid concrete ceilings with no existing lighting infrastructure.
Additionally, the ceilings were covered in popcorn texture, which limited both the aesthetic and functionality of the space.
Our goal was to create a modern, well-lit environment without invasive structural work.
The Solution
We began by removing the existing popcorn ceiling to prepare the surface for installation.
Using our stretch ceiling system, we were able to install integrated puck lighting—something that would typically be difficult or impossible with a concrete ceiling.
In the main living area, we installed a clean matte white stretch ceiling to create a smooth, modern finish with evenly distributed lighting.
In the dining area, the client wanted something more unique. We designed and installed a luminous ceiling system, creating a soft, evenly backlit surface that acts as both a design feature and a functional light source.
